MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The Mechanical Engineer researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems for weather radar and satellite ground stations. Coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. Supports current jobs/projects through production and new product/subsystem development.

Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly iterate through the design process to arrive at a solution that meets cost, quality and delivery objectives while meeting key product specifications, including all phases of new product introduction (concept, development, and evaluation stages).
  • reate 3D models and industry-standard manufacturing drawings of new mechanical components and assemblies using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Complete mechanical engineering analyses of components and assemblies: Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Optimization of natural resonant frequency of machinery to permit high accuracy positioning of linear and rotary servo positioners.
  • Simulates virtual testing environments for static linear, times-based motion, and high-cycle fatigue design optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members in our manufacturing facility to introduce new products/components/processes.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and customer issues.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree (or technically equivalent)
  • Minimum of three (3) years practical hands-on experience as a degreed Mechanical Engineer
  • Proficiency using 2D/3D design software, AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
  • Design engineering facilitator with demonstrated experience in various phases of product development, from conceptualization through production

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

The Electronics Technician will lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify specific modules and subunits to be used in production or prototype systems. You will assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment, such as, printed circuit boards or wiring harnesses using small hand tools.

Required Education/Experience and Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree or work equivalent in electronics or related field
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronic units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring or assembly casings, using bolts, crimping, or soldering equipment
  • Test electronic units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER / TOWER EQUIPMENT INSTALLER

Mechanical Assemblers/Installers perform a variety of duties at EEC’s Enterprise, Alabama facility, as well as, execute onsite mechanical installation of weather radar systems. Job duties while in Alabama include assembling fabricated parts to large or heavy subassemblies with hoists, installing functional parts, and testing and calibrating mechanisms to meet tolerances. While in the field, job duties include providing mechanical installation/service of weather radar systems, working with crane services, conducting operational testing, and training the customer on proper use and care of the system. Requires up to 40% international or domestic travel and working at height.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED plus 1 year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate will also have knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools, materials and equipment.

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER / ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

FSEs perform a variety of duties at EEC’s Enterprise, Alabama facility, as well as, execute onsite installation and operational testing of weather radar systems. Job duties while in Alabama include lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronics components, parts, equipment, and systems. While in the field, job duties include providing electrical installation/service of weather radar systems, conducting operational testing, and training the customer on proper use and care of the system. Requires 50-75% international travel and working at height.

Qualified applicants will have an associate’s degree with a focus in electronics, radar, electronic warfare, or antenna testing plus 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The selected candidate will also have excellent verbal communication skills.
